WHO develops new knowledge platform on tuberculosis

21.2.2022

At the end of 2021, the WHO launched the new "TB Knowledge sharing platform", through which interested healthcare professionals can quickly and clearly access the WHO's collected resources on tuberculosis (TB). The website was created as part of the WHO's Global TB Program, which aims to implement the End TB Strategy in addition to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The sharing platform combines current versions of the WHO guidelines on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of tuberculosis with the associated manuals, which are intended to provide users with assistance in the practical implementation of the WHO recommendations. A quick search function makes it easy to find content tailored to specific terms and topics.

In addition, a series of online courses and training material for various specialist groups will be available in the "Training Catalogue" section in future. So far, an e-learning course on the treatment of resistant tuberculosis and a course on the new laboratory methods for rapid tuberculosis diagnostics are already available. However, the website and therefore some of the content is still under construction.

The corresponding app for cell phones is already available with some of the website content and can be downloaded free of charge from all popular app stores as the "WHO-TB Guide".
