Can tuberculosis be cured?
31/1/2025

The chances of recovery for people with tuberculosis are very good if the medication is taken consistently and in the correct dose for the entire duration of treatment. Premature discontinuation of therapy or irregular intake can lead to the treatment being unsuccessful. Although the duration of treatment is relatively long, it is absolutely necessary - even if you feel healthy after a few weeks. Even if the bacteria are no longer detected in the laboratory, isolated bacteria may still be present at the site of infection. These can only be completely destroyed if the medication is taken throughout the entire course of treatment.
